The Future of the Internet
Last September the Internet turned 40 years old, in the last
40 years I don’t think anything has evolved more then the internet. Now a days
people do everything on the internet, we talk, work, bank, meet people, read
the news, even watch tv on the internet, we share what we are doing through
twitter and Facebook on the internet it has just become a big part of our
everyday lives.
What can the Internet possibly do next how can it possibly
become better then it already is, well here are some predictions of the
Internet in the future, Audio web surfing instead of typing into the search key
you will be able to connect your mobile device to the internet though blue
tooth and have text to speech, so there will be no more typing people will just
have to say what they want to search and the internet will search it by audio.
Some other ideas that the future of the internet will bring
are you will be able to access the internet through any device not just a
computer or a smart phone device, the internet will be able to be accessed
through anything suck as something like a cutting board when chopping your
vegetables.
By 2012 they predict that the internet will be everything,
everything will be done on the internet as we are already geared towards that.
People will use the internet for everything banking, business, meeting people,
shopping, people with be paid by there employers through the internet, and the
list goes on the internet will be faster then every, and liked already stated
will be able to be accessed through any device.
They also predict that as we head into the future the
internet will be geared towards more app like, so for example have different
apps to do and search different topics.
No one can control the future of the internet but it does
look like we have some very interesting technology with the internet on the
way!
i do believe that the internet will be accessible though very odd products. i also think that not every one will use the internet for everything. there will always be people that won't trust, doing shopping or banking online no matter how secure it will become.
ReplyDeleteI agree totally. No one knows where the internet might take us. it is never ending and will keep getting bigger and bigger. i am very interested to see what happens in the near future
ReplyDeleteI believe the future of the internet, like you alluded to will involve a better use of our palpable senses. I think it will continue to be more customized and better suited to our individual needs. I think at some point we will all have our business/work related data, family records, medical information, completely online and for our available use.
ReplyDeleteAs you stated Sylvia, the internet last year turnt 40 and the sheer number of advancements in those 40 years has been revolutionary. With all the positives the internet has brought, do you think there is a need to continue pushing the boundaries as much as we are for what the internet can do. Im a little concerned that the continuing evolution of the internet will go just a little to far at one point, especially as we as a society are becoming so reliant upon not just the internet but advancements in technology as a whole.
ReplyDeleteGood work Sylvia,
ReplyDeleteFirst off, 40 years? Very interesting. I had no idea it was that old, when I think about the internet I always just consider the past 15 years when it really became a public tool. With the advancements of the internet it can be some what intimidating. The new technology you speak of could be beneficial but also could be threatening to privacy and security for users. Personally, I think someone trying to access the internet through a cutting board, may also need to have the hospital on speed dial to attach missing digits, especially if this user has a strong addiction to youtube while using shape knives.
Good job once again
Donald
Hard to believe internet had been around for 40 years! Never the less the rapid advancements in the internet and how we use are mind blowing. I to feel more devices and objects will have a internet component integrated into them. There really is no limit to the possibilities of change that can be made, and that is the exciting thing about the internet as soon as something is made better... well then it is made better again and again.
ReplyDeletegreat blog!
Joel
Hey Sylvia
ReplyDeleteThe Internet is a crazy thing and i cant believe it been around that long wow. the Possibilities are endless like Joel said its incredible. It will only go up from here now
Good Job (rock on) ahha
yea like you and joel said it is incredible how long it has been around for and how far it has come!!
DeleteHey Sylvia
ReplyDeleteI do agree that technology of the internet has significantly evolved. There are no limitations to what you can't do on the internet now. The advanced technology of the internet has allowed for significant time savings for consumers to pretty much do everything online. There is more and more social media web sites being introduced, more games available, accessibility of business documents and much more is able to be done online. I think you did a really great job with your information that you provided.
Great job!
Syl,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, but forty years, wow i was not aware of that. At a presentation I was at they showed this video of what the interest was going to evolve into, and they said that plastic sheets of clear plastic were going to be ways of accessing the internet and files. That is even crazier than internet in the palm of your hand.
Who knows what the future will bring.
Great blog post.
Hey Syl,
ReplyDeleteNice work on your blog post. It's too bad we don't know what direction the future of the internet is headed, but it is also exciting to know that we will get to witness it's evolution.

Hey Syl,
ReplyDeleteI never knew the internet was 40 years old and with it grown as much as it has it will be very interesting to see just how much more it grows in the near future.
Hello Sylvia
ReplyDeleteThe future of the internet is very interesting indeed. I agree with your comment "No one can control the future of the internet but it does look like we have some very interesting technology with the internet on the way!" I can as well as cannot wait to se where we go next.
Thanks so much
David
Hey Syl,
ReplyDeleteNice blog, Im jealous of your topic! It would have been very interesting to research for a blog topic about the future of the internet, something we use constantly throughout the day. Very informative blog post though. Well done.
Andrew
thanks andrew, it defiantly was a cool topic to research to see where people think the internet is going in the future
DeleteThe future of the internet is the opposite of books in my opinion. We are so heavily dependent on it. I use it for everything; music, movies, homework and even my books are online. I’m just waiting for the days where we can download physical objects from the internet or actually be immersed in it. I’m a dreamer! I wouldn’t want it to be like the Dave Chappelle version though; that would not be fun.
ReplyDeleteThe future of the internet, that's a tough one to predict. It's come so far in 40 years and yet there is still so much farther and can go. Good post Slyvia
ReplyDeleteThe internet has advanced greatly within the last 40 years, who knows what the future has in store for us. I do agree with Tanner, no matter how secure the internet will be, I still believe that there will always be those people that will strictly do their banking/shopping in person. It almost puts them at ease knowing they made the transaction infront of somebody else. I'm sure there will be more great advancements within the next 40 years of the internet as well, that simply means adaptation for us!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Syl,

The internet has involved immensely that people depend on it every single day. In a ton of ways, our generation would be lost without it. You can't help but ask yourself if in person communication will ever diminish through out businesses since meetings, conversation, business seminars and so on are all done using the internet.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to know what a huge part the Internet plays in our lives, and it has only been around for 40 years. Our dependence on the Internet had grown tremendously. Who would have thought that we would be able to access one page as a class and talk about our entire course with one click? It really is amazing. Thank you for sharing all this information.
ReplyDeleteKellen Cummings
This seems like a hard blog post to write. If you think about it I cant believe how fast the internet has evolved in the past 5 years.

Hey Syl
ReplyDeletegood blog post, its hard to predict how the future will be because things come up that we had never even thought are possible and that could work. Internet is so important and for only being 40 years old it affects everyone in different ways. Good asumptions to the topic
