Brand Evaluation - Task #7

Today we discussed lead generation and CRM.  Does your brand appear to be doing anything to generate leads via the Internet?  Are they capturing data and using it for CRM?  If so, explain.  If not, what would you recommend they do if they wanted to use the Internet to generate sales leads?  How could they use and improve their existing tactics/channels to support a CRM strategy?

This task is worth 10 points.

The Future of CRM - Where do we go from here?

"Here is that pie lard Mrs. Douglas. I'm sure your pie will be delicious."

It is a beautiful sunny day in the summer of 1962. Your grandmother is having guests over and decides to serve a roast chicken and bake a savoury pumpkin pie. She takes her handbag and makes her way to the local Rudy’s Grocery located just a couple of blocks from her home. The grocer greets her warmly. The grocer knows that your grandmother has several small children and stays at home with them while your grandfather goes to work.  He is aware of their product needs, buying patterns, even keeps mind of your family’s fiscal state. Today he has prepared several tubs of lard for her, the brand that she loves because it makes the flakiest pie crust. This is one of the earliest examples of customer relationship management.
Customer relationship Management or CRM is all about amalgamating business practices and the marketing mix in order to create meaningful, long-term professional relationships. With so much progress in the CRM field it’s exciting to envision what the future will hold.

From CRM to sCRM: The Evolution continues

Social CRM has become a dominating player in the CRM world, and is sure to continue its’ momentum. Twitter is the fastest growing portal for sCRM, but Facebook and Pinterest hold a strong presence in the market. Sales teams have learned that in order to survive they must use Social CRM (sCRM) to discover customer’s needs and interests. These marketers/sales professionals must keep in mind that a Facebook page or Twitter feed is not a one-way channel for a sales pitch, and are missing sCRM opportunities by not replying to troubleshooting requests, or criticisms.  The future of SCRM will require additional efforts from businesses/marketers to provide the definitive personalized experience.  From a technological standpoint we are seeing programs, apps and shareable material to create personalized material. The future of Social CRM will require a unification of these components. Gone are the days of a customer’s importance being transactional, now relationships with others in the social media word are a key gauge of value.

Generation ‘C’: The Next Target
Generation C are young adults who have evolved out of the social media sensation. Generation C thrive on perpetual connectivity to and the social status achieved through the sharing or co-creating of relevant/trendy material. Businesses will have to be innovative in order to capture these consumers attention. The Gen C consumer is also driven by a tribe mentality –and depends highly on peer approval.  In the future marketers will have to modify their CRM/sCRM programs to adapt to these attention hungry,tech-savvy consumer.

As we see the power shift to the consumer we will undoubtedly see marketers developing stronger and more creative tactics to produce a stronger impact. The future of CRM and sCRM holds unlimited possibilities – business leaders heed my warning: Adapt or decline into obscurity.

Strategic CRM

Strategic CRM

Strategic CRM also known as Strategic Customer Relationship Marketing, the focus of this for companies is where they place the same emphasis on retaining customers just as much as attracting new ones. After conducting my research I found that customer relationship marketing has become a very important part of business now is marketers realizing that their job isn’t done once the sale is complete but to build a brand relationship with the customer which will help grow profits for the company. It’s all about brand loyalty so for companies using strategic customer relationship marketing they have to make sure it’s easy to identify and being able to differentiate from other companies in the market by creating trademarks that the customers will be able to relate and refer to the company as. An example of this would be creating a trademark of having a strong trustworthy brand that stays true to their commitment to the quality of their products and services.

As you can see in the image above it’s a loyalty ladder and this is the levels that companies want their customers to climb up with their customer relationship marketing strategies that they have put in place to build brand loyalty as the customers reach each level on the ladder the companies will begin to gain even more profits due to their customers will only want to purchase that specific brand over any other in the market and those individuals will be more likely to talk about the positive aspects of the brand which is one of the most effective methods of advertising being word of mouth advertising and when you combine that on top of the advertising methods that the company is using to attract new customers the loyalty ladder will always be in effect and continuing to keep customers going up the ladder and keeping the ones that are already at the top satisfied.

Costumer Relationship Marketing

Just How Important is CRM?

When a business provides a service to a costumer that business in order to be successful would have a long-term relationship with that costumer and this is where Costumer Relationship Marketing takes its role. For example now days every business is more costumer oriented in order to be successful in the market. As evidence successful companies are more focused on customer loyalty and brand value in which are built through marketing strategies and activities. Therefore by providing loyalty programs with special discounts and other priveleges, the company would be more succesful by having the lifetime value of the costumer.

As proof many companies are putting their investments in anything that will increase costumer relations, anything that has an effect on sales and also improving customer retention. Therefore companies know that by investing on costumer relations the outcome will result in increase in profit. http://www.enterpriseappstoday.com/crm/crm-investment-on-upswing.html

Here is a good video to watch regarding CRM

Now in 2012 CRM in very present by our accessibility to costumer care done through our phone.  The ability to add direct customer social interaction to a customer service is important since it will result in a to successful helpful service. This demonstrates that companies are investing money in things that will make costumer service better since having a happy costumer well result in have the lifetime value of the costumer. In other words they will have a bigger chance in obtaining a costumer who will potentially purchase more products or pay for the services then someone who does not provide the same costumer care.

A good example would be call centers that invest money towards the software they use as their costumer service channel. http://www.enterpriseappstoday.com/call-centers/6-key-call-center-trends.html

What types of on-page and off-page tactics are they using? Try using some of the tools discussed in class - tell me what they are doing well and how you think they could improve.

This task is worth 15 points.

Web Development

What is web development? Well it does not have anything to do with spiders, Web development is a very broad term used to describe the efforts involved with the creation of a website for the internet accessible worldwide, or for the making of a site for a private network known as the intranet.

The work involved with web development consists of numerous activities; such as, inputting HTML coding, adding text and including pictures. These activities are essential in making websites come to fruition. The implementation of various techniques requires a good knowledge of what will be acceptable to the desired visitors or viewers. A lot of hard work and time is involved when picking a theme and pursuing objectives. It can take numerous people to create and maintain a website; this team of individuals are known as web developers, web developers will work with on and other providing expertise in different elements of design to help in the production of a website.

Becoming a web developer/ designer can be a very fulfilling and lucrative venture. Once the knowledge of web development fundamentals is engrained, the possibilities are virtually endless. You could work for yourself contracting your expertise to others, or you could develop something incredible and sell it. For example with the same skills used in the process of developing web pages, can be put to making apps for smart phones, or creating high traffic entertainment sites that can host vendor advertisements generating revenue 24 hours a day. The options go on and on.

With the current rise in social media sites coming available; such as, Facebook, Twitter and Pintrest it is now more important to have a collaborative function to ones website to influence audiences interaction and help personalise the online experience of visitors.

Simply put, web development covers all the processes involved in taking an idea and creating a website for others to view or interact with.
